Teams & Athletics
Interscholastic Sports are grouped by season. In fall, they include cross country for grades three through eight, flag football for grades seven and eight and girls’ volleyball for grades six, seven and eight. In winter, both girls’ and boys’ basketball is offered for grades six, seven and eight. And in spring, Saint Mark’s starts its track and field season. All games are held after school.
Saint Mark's competes in the Marin County Middle School League, in its Large School Division, for volleyball, flag football, basketball and cross country. It is one of the smallest schools to compete in this, more challenging, division. In track and field the school competes in a club/select league, the USA Track and Field Club Pacific Association. This allows students to compete in any one of the full breadth of track and field events, both regionally and nationally.
The intramural activity program is designed for students to have fun and enjoy healthy competition in their favorite sports. The program is voluntary and almost entirely student run; students officiate as well as play. Everyone who wishes to play will be placed on a team. There are no tryouts held. Activities are divided into grade or age levels to equalize competition. All games are held during lunch period. The seasonal intramural activities schedule is as follows: fall, 5-A-Side Soccer; winter, basketball; and spring: volleyball.
