Affording Saint Mark's
As you search for the right school, you may find that financing an independent school education represents a challenge for your family. We strongly urge you not to let the cost of tuition stand in the way of considering Saint Mark’s. We are committed to enrolling a socioeconomically diverse community of families, and we work individually with each family to help make Saint Mark’s an affordable option.
Tuition Assistance
Our tuition assistance program provides over $975,000 to assist families who otherwise would not be able to enroll. We offer grants to qualified families ranging from $3,000 to $18,758, depending on the family’s financial need. A preliminary conversation can provide guidelines for your family to help determine if you may be eligible to receive tuition assistance.
To apply for tuition assistance, please contact Michelle Williams, Director of Financial Aid, at (415) 472-8000, ext. 1019, or mwilliams@saintmarksschool.org. Saint Mark’s will mail you the Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS), which must be submitted by January 14, 2008. In addition, a copy of your 2007 income tax return must be submitted by February 8, 2008. The $100 application fee is waived for families applying for tuition assistance.
What If I Need Help But Don't Qualify for Regular Tuition Assistance?
Beginning with the 2008–2009 school year, Saint Mark’s will offer a Tuition Support Program designed for families whose incomes are too high to qualify for traditional financial aid but who are challenged with affording, and faced with being unable to pay, current independent school tuitions. The program will provide up to $2,000 of tuition relief (per child) for parents of one child who earn an adjusted gross income of under $150,000 or for parents with two or more children with an income of under $200,000. To learn more, please contact Rhona Lovett, Director of Finance and Operations, at (415) 472-8000, ext.1010, or rlovett@saintmarksschool.org.
