Drama
Our drama program helps students grow in all areas of their life by developing their confidence and interpersonal skills. A nurturing, safe and fun environment encourages students to explore and grow creatively.
Class exercises teach them improvisation, pantomime, poetry and storytelling. Students learn to stay focused, observe, pay attention and respect their peers. They also learn kinesthetic skills such as how to be spontaneous, explore their senses, move their whole body and have more control over their bodies.
Class plays are a highlight of the school year. Students learn how to audition, memorize lines, rehearse and work as an ensemble. They practice articulation, enunciation, projection and clear communication. Several performances are given for schoolmates and families.
Learning effective public speaking is another highlight.. Students learn tools and techniques for vocal and physical warm up, vocal clarity and tone, body language and performance. Each student presents a personal outline to the class. This gives them the opportunity to use their individual flair and personality while presenting to their classmates.
