Welcome

Welcome to Saint Mark’s! We pride ourselves on being a strong, exciting, and enriched academic environment for our students, as well as a nurturing and humane and warm community in which they can learn and grow.

We combine the best of what is progressive and what is traditional; our aim is to bring out the best in our students, turning out graduates well prepared to face the altogether different 21st century. Unpretentious, innovative, and full of heart, Saint Mark's School strives to develop well-rounded, socially responsible, ethical, independent thinkers through a challenging and balanced curricular program in academics, arts, athletics, and world cultures. At Saint Mark's, it is cool to be smart, important to be well-rounded, and essential to have character.

We combine the best of what is progressive and what is traditional; our aim is to bring out the best in our students, turning out graduates well prepared to face the altogether different 21st century.

Our methods center on the student as an active learner, on collaboration, on hands-on experience, on students learning how to learn, and on instilling a palpable joy in the process of education. In addition to our strong core curriculum, we maintain an emphasis on the arts, on physical education, and on world languages.

From our nationally recognized Media Literacy program, to Guided Reading in the Lower School, to our pioneering work with Everyday Math, to our emphasis on community service, to our offering of Mandarin, Spanish, and French beginning in Kindergarten, to our inculcating the Seven Pillars of Character in each student, Saint Mark’s leads the way in educational innovation, while maintaining a warm and unpretentious atmosphere for its families.

From our standardized test scores, to our secondary school placement, to the strong testimony from our alumni on their preparation for life in high school, the evidence clearly shows Saint Mark’s makes a substantial difference in the lives and the achievement of its students.

We’re glad to see you here!
